Health & Wellness Tools

KP.org offers numerous interactive health tools.  Through using these personal calculators you can learn important facts that can help you make smart decisions about your health.

Below are links to a few of these health tools:

What health screenings do you need?
This interactive tool asks you questions about your health and your health history. Then it creates a list of screening tests you may need. This tool is for adults age 21 and older who are not pregnant. If you are not in this group, talk to your doctor about the screening tests that are best for you.

Symptom Checker
From headaches and eye problems to foot and ankle injuries — find out what's bothering you from head to toe.

Use our interactive symptom checker to help you make informed decisions about your health.

How many calories did you burn?
This interactive tool estimates how many calories are burned during common activities. The food you eat is measured in calories. The energy you use every day is also measured in calories. You are using energy all the time, even at rest. The more vigorous the activity and the longer the time you do it, the more calories you burn.

This tool also uses your weight to calculate calories burned, because a heavier person burns more calories during activity than a lighter person.

What is your BMI?
This interactive tool estimates your risk of weight-related diseases by using your body mass index (BMI) along with your waist measurement and other factors. The higher the BMI, the greater the risk of some diseases, including high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, stroke, osteoarthritis, some cancers, and type 2 diabetes.

What is your target heart rate?
This tool will help you find your target heart rate based on your:
  • Age
  • Resting heart rate
  • Activity level

Your target heart rate can guide you to how hard you should exercise so you can get the most aerobic benefit from your workout.

Do not use this target heart rate measurement if you are taking medicine that affects your heart rate, such as beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers or digoxin. If you have a heart condition or other chronic disease, talk to your doctor before you start an exercise program.
